YouTube personality Jack Doherty, widely known for his high-energy pranks and viral stunts, was arrested early Saturday morning in Miami Beach on multiple drug-related charges.
Doherty, 22, of Plantation, Florida, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana, and resisting an officer without violence, according to Miami-Dade online booking records. Charging documents state he was found in possession of amphetamine, NBC News reported.
The arrest occurred shortly after 3:10 a.m. in the 700 block of Washington Avenue in South Beach’s Entertainment District, WPLG reported. According to Miami Beach Police, Doherty was standing in the middle of the road “acting erratically” while holding his phone. When officers directed him to move, he allegedly responded, “Once I’m done with this bet.”
Officers searched Doherty and recovered half an orange, oval-shaped pill marked ‘3’—consistent with a Schedule II amphetamine—and a container holding three hand-rolled suspected cannabis cigarettes, according to the arrest affidavit.
Video circulating online appears to show the YouTuber arguing with police during the arrest.
Doherty was booked into the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center around 8:45 a.m. Saturday. His bond was set at $3,500.
The social media star boasts over 15 million YouTube subscribers, 10 million TikTok followers, and more than 3 million Instagram followers. Just hours before the arrest, he had shared videos from a yacht in Miami and livestreamed his night out on the app Parti.
Doherty, known for titles such as “I accidentally started a riot” and “Someone stole my Lamborghini,” has not publicly commented on the arrest.
