Authorities in Cleveland are investigating an alleged assault involving a five-year-old girl after her mother, Antavia Kennibrew, took to social media calling for justice and accountability.
Kennibrew said the incident occurred on September 13, 2025, in the Saint Clair area, while her daughter was staying with a relative. The child was later found injured and traumatized near a garden area after going missing for a short time.
According to Kennibrew, the assault was carried out by a group of older neighborhood children. She stated that although police have opened an investigation, some of those involved may not face charges due to their age.
In her post, Kennibrew urged local leaders and legal organizations to step in, saying her family feels unsupported by the justice system. She shared that both she and her daughter are now in therapy and seeking legal assistance to pursue accountability.
The Cleveland Police Department and child protective services are reportedly reviewing the case. Anyone with information is urged to contact the local authorities.
