Ronnie Andrews, a 61-year-old truck driver from , died around 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, Feb. 15, after his tractor-trailer veered off the southbound span near the North Channel Bridge, broke through guardrails, and plunged into the water below, authorities said. His body, along with the truck and trailer, was recovered later that evening.

Andrews had worked in the trucking industry for approximately 35 years, including the past five years with . The company described him as a valued employee and extended sympathies to his family.

His wife said she spoke with him the night before the crash and that he did not mention feeling tired or experiencing any issues.

The fatal crash occurred seven years after Andrews survived a serious accident in 2018. At the time, he posted a photo of his heavily damaged truck on social media, saying he felt fortunate to have escaped with only minor injuries.

Officials confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in Sunday’s incident. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
