Birmingham Man Anson Quandarius Henderson Fatally Shot After Domestic Dispute; Suspect Arrested Following High-Speed Escape

Birmingham, Alabama — A 30-year-old Birmingham man was shot and killed Saturday morning in the Collegeville neighborhood shortly after a domestic dispute involving the mother of his children, authorities confirmed.

Police responded to the 3200 block of 32nd Street North at approximately 10:14 a.m. after hearing gunfire in the area. As officers approached, they observed a vehicle speeding away from the scene. The driver was stopped and taken into custody a short time later.

When officers reached the residence, they found Anson Quandarius Henderson lying unresponsive on the porch with a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the incident began with an argument between Henderson and the mother of his children. She reportedly left the home after the dispute. A short time later, another vehicle arrived, and Henderson was shot multiple times by the individual who had come to the residence. The suspect then attempted to flee before being stopped by police.

The identity of the detained suspect has not yet been released, and investigators have not confirmed whether the shooter has any connection to Henderson’s children’s mother.

Police emphasized that she was not the gunman, but declined to comment on whether she may have known or contacted the suspect.

The case remains under active investigation.
