Amid the chaos, witnesses reported that a father attending the event confronted the gunman and managed to wrestle away one of his firearms in an effort to stop the attack. However, officials say the suspect had a second weapon, which he used as the situation escalated.
Law enforcement confirmed that two people, including the suspect, died in the incident, and four others sustained injuries. Emergency crews quickly responded, secured the arena, and helped evacuate families and students.
The investigation is ongoing as authorities work to determine the full sequence of events.
