Grief and shock have taken over the community in Greenville following the tragic death of 49-year-old Sulayman Necros Blue, also known as “Buddah.”
According to the Greenville County Coroner’s Office, authorities responded to reports of a shooting on Bruce Road around 2:22 p.m. on March 20, 2026. When deputies arrived, they found Blue suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite life-saving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 2:48 p.m.
An autopsy conducted on March 21 confirmed the cause of death as a gunshot wound, with the manner of death officially ruled a homicide.
The investigation is ongoing, with both the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office and coroner’s office working to determine what led to the fatal incident.
Community members and loved ones have since shared emotional tributes, describing Blue as a kind and generous individual who was always willing to help others, even during difficult times. Reports circulating among witnesses allege the incident may have involved a robbery inside a hotel room, though officials have not confirmed these details.
As the search for answers continues, authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
