Four Men Dead After Vehicle Fleeing Police Crashes Into Tree in Pike County, Alabama

A late-night police pursuit in Pike County, Alabama ended in tragedy on Friday, April 3, after a vehicle attempting to evade a state trooper left the roadway and slammed into a tree, killing all four occupants. The victims have been identified in community reports as Tykevious Russaw, Khris Cbfw, Trukk Hussein, and Dounk.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the single-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 11:57 PM on Pike County Road 6628, near Pike County Road 6627, roughly nine miles east of Banks.

The driver, Tykevious D. Russaw, 27, of Eufaula, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle upon impact. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Two passengers, Robert D. Hall, 27, of Clayton, and a 17-year-old juvenile, were also unbelted and were similarly ejected during the crash. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. A fourth occupant, Quamay R. Richardson, 24, also of Clayton, remained inside the vehicle but did not survive, and was likewise pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities confirmed that Russaw had been actively attempting to flee from a state trooper immediately prior to the crash.

The investigation into the incident remains ongoing, with ALEA troopers continuing to look into the full circumstances surrounding the pursuit and subsequent collision.
