Washington, Illinois — Authorities in Washington, Illinois, have arrested 43-year-old Robyn Polston, charging her with multiple offenses including criminal sexual assault and child exploitation following an investigation into her alleged relationship with a 14-year-old boy.
According to Washington Police, Polston’s arrest came after months of inquiries involving interviews, search warrants, and the collection of biological and digital evidence.
Investigators allege that Polston, a hairstylist and mother of two, developed an inappropriate relationship with her teenage daughter’s former boyfriend. Officials say the connection eventually became exploitative and led to her pregnancy.
DNA results reportedly confirmed the boy’s paternity earlier this year, prompting formal charges.
Police say Polston misled people close to her about the child’s father, at one point claiming he was serving overseas in the military. Witnesses later told investigators they had seen a young boy frequently in her company, sparking further suspicion.
She was taken into custody on Monday and booked into Tazewell County Jail pending court proceedings. The Washington Police Department stated that the case remains active and that further charges may follow as the investigation continues.
