Jacksonville Man, Logan Fletcher Park, Charged With DUI Manslaughter in Crash That Killed Bayview Teacher and Infant Son
Jacksonville, Florida Authorities have charged Logan Fletcher Park, 24, with two counts of DUI manslaughter following a fatal May crash that killed beloved Bayview Elementary teacher Mitchell Patch and his one-year-old son, Everett.

The tragedy occurred on May 16, 2025, around 8:30 p.m., when Patch and his son were crossing Baymeadows Road and were struck by a Honda Civic driven by Park. Both victims died at the scene, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.

Toxicology results later revealed that Park’s blood alcohol concentration was .107, exceeding Florida’s legal limit of 0.08. Following a seven-month investigation, Park turned himself in on Sunday after a warrant was issued for his arrest.

He is scheduled to make his first court appearance on December 3, facing two felony counts of DUI manslaughter.

Patch, a 12-year math teacher and Bayview Elementary’s 2023–2024 Teacher of the Year, was remembered as a dedicated educator deeply loved by students and colleagues.

Principal Kelly York described him as “an incredible teacher and a respected member of our Brave family,” adding that his loss has left a profound void in the school community.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to support Patch’s wife, Mary Allred, with funeral and related expenses.
