A Texas mother, Guadalupe Rodriguez, is demanding justice after shocking surveillance footage showed two teachers — Britney Henshaw and Sydney Madill — assaulting her 5-year-old nonverbal autistic son at Wild Peach Elementary School in Brazoria County.
The disturbing incidents, which took place on October 30, reportedly show one teacher slamming the child to the floor and, less than an hour later, dropping him again. Another video later that day captures a different teacher kicking the boy’s injured ankle as she tried to force him to walk, despite his visible pain.
The boy returned home limping, and doctors later confirmed he had suffered a fractured and sprained ankle.
Both educators were terminated by the Columbia-Brazoria Independent School District, but Rodriguez insists that firing them is not enough — she wants criminal charges filed.
“It was devastating,” Rodriguez said after watching the footage. “My son can’t speak for himself. What they did was cruel.”
The Texas Education Agency and school police have since referred the case to the Brazoria County District Attorney’s Office for review. As of now, prosecutors have not confirmed whether criminal charges will be pursued.
Rodriguez’s son has not returned to school since the incident, and she has begun consulting with attorneys to explore further legal action.
