Man Returning Lost Wallet Mistaken as Suspect in Killing of Kapt. Oscar “Dodong” Bucol

 

Authorities have not confirmed Jhonrey R. Labador as the suspect in the fatal shooting of Kaptain Oscar “Dodong” Bucol, who was killed during a Facebook livestream in Tres de Mayo, Digos City, on November 25, 2025.

The family expressed relief after learning that the man who appeared online—identified as “Ting Derecho”—was not involved in the crime, but had simply returned Bucol’s lost wallet. In a post, Shellmae Bajenting Galicia clarified that her uncle Ting only went to give the wallet back. Ting himself also posted, explaining that he shared his contact number publicly in hopes of finding the owner.

The ID inside the wallet belonged to Jhonrey R. Labador, a sorter at PH Global Jet Express Inc. It was confirmed that his wallet had indeed gone missing. The family asked people not to accuse him and stated that he is willing to cooperate with police as they continue the investigation.
