TikTok Star Brenay Kennard Ordered to Pay $1.75 Million for Ruining North Carolina Woman’s Marriage Under ‘Alienation of Affection’ Law

A North Carolina jury has ordered TikTok influencer Brenay Kennard to pay $1.75 million to Akira Montague, a Raleigh native, after finding her liable for destroying Akira’s marriage to her husband, Tim Montague, under the state’s rarely used “alienation of affection” law.

Court documents show that Akira, who married Tim in 2018 and shares two children with him, sued Kennard in Durham County after discovering the affair between her husband and the influencer — who boasts nearly 3 million TikTok followers.

The lawsuit accused Kennard of intentionally interfering in the Montagues’ marriage, resulting in emotional distress, humiliation, and the breakdown of the family unit. Akira initially sought $3.5 million in
