A tragic double shooting in Milwaukee has left one man dead and his sister seriously injured after gunfire erupted near 88th Street and Congress.
According to reports, 31-year-old Cortney Harvey, a barber, was shot six times during the incident. He was rushed to the hospital but later succumbed to his injuries.
His sister, 39-year-old Taneisha Wilson, was also caught in the shooting and reportedly suffered three gunshot wounds to the chest. She was transported to a nearby hospital where she is currently receiving treatment.
Loved ones later identified Harvey as the victim who died following the attack. Authorities confirmed that the second victim was taken to the hospital for medical care.
Police say the investigation is ongoing as detectives work to determine what led to the shooting and whether any suspects are in custody. Meanwhile, the tragic loss has left family members and the local community mourning Harvey’s death while hoping for Wilson’s recovery.
