Roseburg Father Charged With Murder of 11-Month-Old Son Jaxson

A 27-year-old man, Jared Scott Jeremy Stoller, has been arrested and charged in the death of his 11-month-old son, Jaxson Stoller, in a case that has shocked the community in Roseburg.

According to authorities, the case began on the morning of March 15, 2026, when Stoller called 911 reporting that his infant son was missing from a hotel room at the Relax Inn in nearby Sutherlin.

Responding officers quickly determined that the situation involved suspicious circumstances, prompting the activation of the Douglas County Major Crimes Team. During the investigation, detectives from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office interviewed Stoller, who later confessed to killing his son days earlier at a location in Roseburg.

Investigators say Stoller told them he had disposed of the child’s body in the South Umpqua River. Search efforts involving the Sheriff’s Office Dive Team, along with assistance from the Oregon State Police, led to the recovery of Jaxson’s body later that day near Old Melrose Road.

The infant’s remains were turned over to the Douglas County Medical Examiner’s Office, where an autopsy is expected to determine the exact cause of death.

Stoller has been booked into the Douglas County Jail and is facing multiple charges, including:

  • Murder in the First Degree

  • Abuse of a Corpse in the First Degree

Authorities say the investigation remains ongoing, with multiple agencies assisting, including local police departments and child welfare services.

Anyone with information related to the case is urged to contact investigators as officials continue to piece together the full circumstances surrounding the tragic death.
