School Resource Officer Fired After Allegedly Striking Student Athlete with Firearm at Marion County Baseball Game

 

 

A School Resource Officer (SRO) identified as George Eddie Page has been terminated from his position following an incident at Pee Dee Academy in Marion County, where he reportedly struck a student in the head with a gun.

According to Marion County Sheriff Tammy Ervin, the State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) has launched an investigation into the allegations. The incident reportedly occurred during a baseball game held at the school earlier this week.

Witnesses at the scene claim the confrontation was sparked when a student stepped on the officer's foot with baseball cleats. It is worth noting that the student involved was not enrolled at Pee Dee Academy, but was instead a player on the visiting team.
