VIDEO: Ex-Boyfriend Allegedly Breaks Into Chicago Home, Kills Two in Double Homicide on Francisco and Washington

A deadly double homicide occurred on the night of March 30, 2026, at approximately 9:42 PM on the corner of Francisco and Washington on Chicago's Westside, after officers responded to reports of two people shot.

According to authorities, the incident began when an ex-boyfriend allegedly broke into an apartment, triggering a violent confrontation. A 44-year-old male, reported to be a cousin of the female victim, became involved in a physical altercation with the 31-year-old intruder inside the residence. During the struggle, the male victim produced a sharp object and attacked the offender, who then drew a firearm and discharged multiple rounds. The man sustained several gunshot wounds and was rushed to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

A 38-year-old woman, identified in reports as Shanti Mack, attempted to intervene in the altercation and was struck by a gunshot wound to the head. She was also transported to Mt. Sinai Hospital, where she too was later pronounced dead.

The offender, identified in reports as Loso Loko Chello, was found to be a valid Firearm Owner's Identification (FOID) cardholder, and a firearm was recovered at the scene. He has since been taken into custody, with charges pending. The investigation is being handled by Area Three Detectives operating out of the 12th District.
