CPS Takes Baby Into Custody After Mother April Kaye Alexander Arrested for Attempted Murder of 4-Month-Old Over $20 Diapers in Natchez

A deeply disturbing case out of Natchez has resulted in the arrest of a 27-year-old mother and two accomplices after authorities received alarming content depicting the mistreatment of a 4-month-old infant, reportedly triggered by a dispute over a $20 pack of diapers.

April Kaye Alexander has been arrested and charged with attempted murder after the baby's father contacted 911 upon receiving disturbing photos and videos on his phone. The content, which was sent directly to him, prompted an immediate emergency response from the Natchez Police Department.

Officers located the infant, who is now confirmed to be safe and has been placed in the care of Child Protective Services (CPS). The baby's welfare remains the priority of authorities as the case moves forward.

Two additional individuals, Jessica Griffin and Dandridge Coats, were also taken into custody in connection with the incident. Investigators allege that the pair actively attempted to conceal Alexander's whereabouts while officers were searching for her. Both now face charges related to hindering prosecution.

The case has drawn widespread outrage across social media, with many expressing shock and heartbreak over the vulnerability of the infant and the circumstances surrounding the alleged abuse.

The Natchez Police Department has confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing, and further developments are expected as authorities continue to build their case.
